Snowbird is best known for its world class ski area, perennially considered by die hard skiers as one of the best in the United States, if not the whole world.  An average snowfall of over 40 feet (that’s right, 40 feet!) combined with the widely held belief that Utah is home to the “Best Snow On Earth” make it no wonder that skiers from near and far keep Snowbird on top of their list of ski vacation plans.  Snowbird is nestled in Little Cottonwood Canyon and is surrounded by rugged and majestic peaks.  For many, this awe inspiring setting conjures up images of the Swiss Alps.  In fact, the connection between Snowbird and Alta Resorts atop Mineral Basin has been compared to skiing from Zermat, Switzerland (Snowbird’s sister resort) to Cervinia, Italy.  Snowbird is located in close proximity to Salt Lake City International airport (approx. half hour drive) making it possible to fly in and ski on the first day of your vacation.  There are several shuttles that run back and forth to the airport on a daily basis, so renting a car is not a necessity for your Snowbird vacation.  Sunny weather (Snowbird averages 225 days of sunshine a year), epic snow, joyous après ski options and luxurious spa treatments abound, making Snowbird the ultimate ski vacation!
