Giving Back to the Alta Community

Each year Alta Community Enrichment (ACE) gives $1000 back to the community by supporting a project in Alta or that affects Alta. This year they have chosen to erect a bike repair station near the picnic and summer both on Highway 210 near the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Sara Gibbs, ACE Director, shared that they “chose this community project based on Tim Roger’s Community Service Grant funding in 2015.” Tim is on Ski Patrol at Alta Ski Area and submitted to receive funding to do a similar project in Leavenworth, Washington, where he resides in the off season. ACE approached Tim this past winter to build a bike repair station in Alta and he was 100% on board with the idea.

The bike stand was created and constructed in Alta by Tim and other Alta locals. It is based off of many popular and useful bike repair station models and includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance. It has 8 tools, a hanging bar and tire pump. This bike repair station is open to the public maybe used by anyone free of charge.
