Join Snowbird and Wasatch Adaptive Sports in lighting up the holiday season in true alpine fashion. Snowbird plaza Saturday December 17th at 4:30PM is the place to be post ski.

The celebration will begin with an Honor Guard presentation of colors accompanied by the Star-Spangled Banner, with a short presentation followed by candle lighting for participants of all ages. The event concludes with the annual lighting of Snowbird’s Highly Decorated trees in honor of America’s veterans, active duty military and their families and a public rendition of America the Beautiful.

As a tribute to their sacrifice the trio of Rocky Mountain Firs (Abies Iasiocarpa, the quintessential pine of Little Cottonwood Canyon) will remain illuminated through the duration of the 2017 season.

Bring the kids, if you have them, and let them light a candle and join in song, comradery and celebration as the Snowbird holiday season gets officially underway. And if you’re not blessed with little ones, raise a glass of cheer.

With the trees on display for the entire season, as you pass through the plaza after your last tram and head for that après ski draft at the Tram Club or killer nachos at El Chanate, pause for a moment and remember those who’ve given so much for the rest of us. Hopefully you’ll have plenty of opportunities this season.
